A Bug in the Machine

February 6, 2008

Well, just had two days of no central heating in the house. Surprisingly it was quite warm with the addition of a fan blower and using the wood burner in the main lounge. Today though, the engineer turned up to have a look and found that our oil powered central heating was suffering from terminal attack of bugs. We have a lot of dead wasps in the garage from a nest that was setup at the end of August, and it seems that a lot of these dead wasps had decided to drop into the combustion chamber of the oil burner and intermittently stop the spark firing. A good quick cleanup of the dead bodies and everything was cool again… well warm I mean 🙂
